Who Are We?

Era Environnement is a French information website (eraenvironnement.com) founded in 2013 by Houmi Ahamed. Its legal structure will change soon. Era Environnement is based at 67 Rue Saint Jacques, 75005 Paris. We are committed to accuracy and fairness in how we handle your data.

How We Use Your Personal Data

We collect your personal data (name and email address) solely to send you our newsletter. This data allows us to interact with our readers.

Contact Form and Newsletter

  • Collection and Purpose: We primarily use the information you submit via our contact form to send you our newsletter. This collection has a commercial and marketing purpose.
  • Retention Period: Your data is kept as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter.
  • Unsubscription: You can unsubscribe at any time. Each email includes a direct unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, your data will be removed from our mailing lists.

Your Consent

  • Legal Basis: The collection and processing of your email address (and your name, if provided) for the newsletter are entirely based on your explicit consent, in accordance with the GDPR (Article 6, paragraph 1, point a).
  • Free and Specific: We will never process your data for this purpose without your prior agreement, which you provide by checking a dedicated box and confirming your subscription. Your subscription is never a condition for accessing other services on our site.

Our Use of Cookies and Audience Measurement

To understand how our site is used and to constantly improve it, we use cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit our site.

  1. Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the technical functioning of our site (session management, memorizing your consent preferences). They cannot be deactivated.
  2. Analytical Cookies: These cookies help us measure our site’s audience (number of visitors, most popular pages, time spent on the site, or how users navigate). For this purpose, we use Google Analytics.
    • Purpose: To measure and analyze website traffic to optimize content and usability.
    • Data Collected: Information such as pages visited, visit time, type of device used, and your IP address (which we anonymize to protect your privacy).
    • Your Consent: We activate these cookies and collect your data only if you have given us your consent via our cookie banner.
    • Data Transfer: Google Analytics may transfer and store the data it collects on servers in the United States. We ensure that these transfers comply with appropriate safeguards (such as the Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses) to guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to that in the European Union.

Your Rights

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have several rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: You can request to know what data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Right to Restriction of Processing: You have the right to request that the processing of your data be limited in certain cases.
  • Right to Object: You can object to the processing of your personal data for legitimate reasons.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller.
  • Right to Withdraw Your Consent: As mentioned, you can withdraw your consent at any time for processing based on it (such as the newsletter).

To exercise any of these rights or for any questions related to your data, please contact us via our contact form.
