Aliyu Sadik is based in Nasarawa State in the Northern central region of Nigeria. He is a circular economy specialist, social entrepreneur and climate justice activist leading grassroots climate action and developing sustainable solutions. As the founder of Ecocykle, a social enterprise and a climate activist, Aliyu Sadiq is in Dubaï at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference.
On radio Era Environnement, in the podcast Your Voice, he explains how waste management was integrated in the national determined contribution of Nigeria. He also shares his concern related to the fact that waste is left behind the other subjects in the negotiations. But he also raises awareness on how waste management sector can help fighting climate change . As a young activist, he provides input on how Nigeria can reach net zero and gives his thoughts on the role of the private sector in the exit from fossil fuels. Nigeria is an oil producer country with more than 213 millions people, and more than 90 millions people without access to energy.
