Combined with soaring oil prices and the erosion of purchasing power linked to inflation, daily life has become a battlefield. Faced with this macroeconomic storm, a strategic question confronts decision-makers: how do the most vulnerable populations continue to bear the weight of systemic crises?

Take the example of Port Arthur, Texas. In this city, where nearly 78% of the population consists of minorities (Black and Hispanic), about 30% of these individuals live below the poverty line, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Caught in a vice between immense petrochemical complexes and plastic production sites, this territory provides a striking illustration of United States history and the problematic of sustainable business management.
